I hope to have Eve and Lilith on display.
So since I've displayed eve and lilith a lot of people have asked the same questions. what"s the snake about? Why is she on a toy horse? etc. Lilith was Adam's first wife in legend and Eve is the "real" wife in most bible versions. I'm using symbolism and pondering the real and legendary wife as a duality in the same woman. Lilith apparently gives birth to demons in great quantity after her relationship with adam went astray....Eve married Adam but gave birth to man and sin. I'm playing with a contemporary version of one woman being both lilith and eve. The hobby horse is the general girl-horse reference and it's a mockery that an older woman would be on a child's version of a horse....but also a metaphor of how a modern women would feel if coupled with the historical adam and confronted with eve/lilith roles. It's a my take on the roles these first women were cast with the first man and how women are still perceived because of these versions. Are you lilith or are you eve...or a little of both? the snake is also a toy because sin from this perspective is very much like the hobby horse...satan in my version of the methapors is just another toy to define women in the roles that would be convenient.
